FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Where will you play?
The Longhorns are available for events in the New York tri-state area, anywhere in the USA, or around the world.
What type of music do you play?
We play American Country music, sometimes also called Country-Rock, Americana, Honky Tonk, and Southern Rock. We can tailor our set lists to accommodate our clients’ tastes. With sufficient notice, we can also perform special requests.
Who’s in the band?
The group consists of male & female lead singers (one of each), guitars, bass and drums. Depending on your event needs and budget, we can play as a small, stripped-down ensemble or augment our basic line-up with pedal steel, fiddle, keyboards, and more. For example, at wedding receptions we are frequently asked for a mellow “cocktail hour” set prior to the main event, so we provide an acoustic trio for that portion of the evening, followed by our full four or five piece group.
What are your influences?
Our influences and song selection include Merle Haggard, Toby Keith, Robert Plant/Alison Krauss, Hank Williams, Chris Stapleton, Eric Church, Chris Janson, Patsy Cline, Brad Paisley, Loretta Lynn, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Dolly Parton, Creedence Clearwater Revival, George Jones, The Rolling Stones, Southern Culture on the Skids, Dwight Yoakam, Reba McIntire, Vince Gill, and many others.
What types of events do you play?
We are available for any and all events: Anniversaries, Wedding Receptions, Bachelor & Bachelorette Parties, Banquets, Birthday Parties, Celebrations, Christmas Parties, Clubs, Cocktail Parties, Community Events, Conventions, Corporate Functions, Dinner Dances, Festivals, Fundraisers, Graduation Parties, Grand Openings, Private Parties, Restaurants, and Reunions. If you need a great live country band, look no further!
How much do you charge to perform?
Rates vary depending on the location and length of your event and the number of musicians in your selected configuration. For gigs in the 5 boroughs of NYC, our 4-piece band (male and female singers, two guitars, bass and drums) starts at $2500. We can offer larger bands with fiddle, pedal-steel, keys, and additional singers for a premium. We can also arrange for Line Dance instruction for an additional fee.
What equipment do I / the venue need to supply?
If the booking is at a private home, please provide a 15×15 area with easy access to power outlets. If outdoors, a tent is important for protection from the elements. If the shindig is in a nightclub that you have booked for your event, ask them if they provide a PA system and sound engineer. Our base fee includes backline (instruments, drums and guitar and bass amps). If a PA system is required there is an additional charge for rental and cartage of the PA.
